My second Topbox package arrived yesterday. It was hard to be excited for it since it came with my ipsy bag, but I was still excited to see what I would get. Topbox is one of the few boxes that doesn’t really have sneak peeks at the contents.
Our mission is to surprise and delight beautiful women (we’re talking to you!) every month, with a luxe box of the top hand-picked beauty samples.
In joining this exclusive ladies club, you are signing up for 4 generous helpings of premium delight each and every month. And did we mention that shipping is free? Think of it as a VIP program that allows you to discover new products and save some of your pretty pennies for the fabulous LBD you’ve had your eye on for the upcoming soiree.
This month I got:
Parfums Issey Miyake in Pleats Please – I don’t wear much perfume so I’m not really into samples of it. This has a sophisticated floral scent that was strong at first, but faded fairly quickly when I tried it last night.
Cover FX CC Cream – I’ve never tried a CC cream before. This is in a light shade, so it should be an okay match to at least try.
Shu Uemura Cleansing Beauty Oil – I’ve never tried a cleansing oil before, so it will be fun to try.
T Langhans Handcrafted Castile Soap in Lemongrass – This is some strong smelling soap. My whole package smelled like this when I first opened it.
Trend Trunk gift certificate – I had to create an account to check the gift card balance, which is a pain, and when I saw it was only $5, I was quite annoyed. It was definitely a waste of my time to even check.
Shipping: This shipped on Nov 8 and arrived on Nov 14. Pretty quick once you factor in the holiday on Monday.
Packaging: This comes strong circular cardboard tube that has a pretty pattern, and will make for great gift packaging.
Price: At $13.44 after tax, with free shipping, this is the best priced box I’ve seen, although the samples this month don’t really seem worth the cost.
Overall: Something about this box seems off to me. I feel like all the products are geared to someone older, which is the same feeling I got last month. Almost like the box is aimed at 40+ women, not someone in their early 30s.
I’ve only gotten 2 boxes, but the feeling is so strong that I’ve already cancelled. I was already charged for the December box, which I don’t really like, so I guess I’ll be getting one more look at what they offer.
If you’re interested in signing up for Topbox (open to Canadians only), please let me know, and I’ll send you an invite.
