It’s been a while since I talked tea here, but that doesn’t mean I’ve been drinking any less. I tend to drink at least one cup every morning as an alternative to coffee. Lately, I’ve been testing out some Energy Tea by Your Tea.

Your Tea Energy Tea

Your Tea offers a wide assortment of bagged teas that are all geared toward specific benefits. I’m always in need of some extra energy, especially in the morning as I’m not a morning person.

Energy Tea is a mix of several ingredients, such as ginseng, lemon, orange, mint, Du Zhong and green tea.

Unlike most bagged tea, the taste of this tea isn’t uniform across all cups. It’s more like loose tea in that each cup is slightly different. Sometimes it tastes more plant-y, and sometimes it seems to have a sweeter taste, and oddly, it sometimes seems to be a little like cinnamon chai. I prefer the later two tastes, but it’s like a surprise in every cup.

So does this give me more energy? I think so. It’s not a strong jolt like caffeine drinks, it’s much more subtle. I do find that about an hour after drinking it I feel wide awake, and more productive, and much less grumpy. It’s a nice gentle way to wake up in the morning.

I’m really happy to discover that the Energy Tea by Your Tea works. At $25 for a box of 40 bags of tea, the cost seems slightly high, but since it is bagged and not loose, this tea will appeal to tea drinkers everywhere. I personally want to try both the Happy Tea and the Her Tea next.

  1. That’s weird that not every cup tastes the same, but it’s good to know that it works.

    • Yes, I found it really weird. I associate loose tea with slight taste differences and bagged tea with uniform flavour.

  2. Strange that they differ so much cup to cup! I mean some difference in the amount of flavouring is normal for loose leaf bags but to go from earthy to cinnamon chai

    • Yeah, I was really surprised, especially since I don’t think there are any ingredients in the cinnamon or chai flavour. If it was just once, I would have written it off as a fluke, but it’s happened with a few cups.
