It’s tea time! Yay! My favourite mail time of the month: Amoda Tea Tasting Box time!
This month the teas are about “finding and appreciating the unique qualities in every tea”. That means unusual flavours, processing methods, and preparations. And yes, that means the first iced tea selection has arrived. Summer is here!
The teas in my May box are:
Lychee Noir – a black tea with lychee
Lychee is a unique tasting fruit, and you really have to try it yourself, since it’s hard to describe.
Pick Me Up – a yerba-mate and rooibos blend
This is a high energy drink. It has ginger and vanilla flavours in it, so I’m curious to see if those are enough to overpower the rooibos flavour
Rocky Mountain Blend – a black tea and rooibos blend
This mixes fruit, citrus, florals, and two types of teas to make a complex taste.
Red Paradise – an herbal blueberry, mango, lemongrass tea
This is the suggested iced tea. I love iced tea in the summer, it’s so refreshing while still giving a tea feel. I can’t wait to try this fruity blend. It’s steeping now!
The insert this month includes helpful instructions on two different methods to create iced tea. I usually use the cold steep method because we rarely have ice. Which do you use?
Amoda Tea has been doing a monthly contest on their Instagram for the last few months, and this month is no exception: follow @amodatea on Instagram and tag @amodatea #amodatea in your tea photos for a chance to win 2 of your favourite monthly box teas.
If you need some suggestions of Amoda Teas to try, you can check out the offerings on their website (the tasting box is $18 per month with free shipping) or read my past monthly reviews (going back to March 2015), or jump straight to my round-up of favourites.
Ohh that blueberry one sounds tasty! I cold steep my iced tea. It takes a bit longer, but I like the taste better.
The blueberry one is quite tasty! It’s my fav of the selection, and it’s pink in the cup!
These ones are not calling me.
Iced teas, depends how quickly I want it. We usually have ice and I am an instant gratification kinda gal so often hot with ice but I will cold steep if I think ahead.
Yes, iced tea isn’t really an instant gratification type thing, but so nice on a hot summer day.
