Would it surprise you to hear that my favourite colour is purple? I’m guessing probably not. I try to showcase lots of colours here, but knowing that I’m always drawn to purple means I probably use products in that range more. Why am I mentioning this? Because my letter E nail art is mostly purple based.
I decided to try stamped faded sweater nail art. Not exactly a summer look, but I’m still really happy with the result.
I started with 2 coats of Formula X in Extraordinary. This polish is part of The Match CLIX! in Fair to Light kit, and is a great light grey shade.
I then stamped a sweater pattern using a gradient of three shades (Formula X in Extraordinary, Mary Kay in Exotic Orchid, and Joe Fresh in Eggplant) using the BornPrettyStore stamping plate BPL-026.
I ended the look by adding a layer of matte top coat. By reducing the shine, this helped the pattern stand out more.
Since I stamped using the same shade as the base, that part of the stamp became invisible once top coat was added. Both the Mary Kay and Joe Fresh polishes stamped really well, although there was a bit of fading to the colours, which further promoted the idea of a faded sweater.
Overall, I’m super happy with how this turned out. I’ll have to remember this look for when the weather cools off and sweaters become appropriate again.
