When I started this letter nail art challenge, I knew there would come a letter where I didn’t have many polish choices. I was not expecting that to happen on the letter N though. Apparently, that’s not a popular nail polish name letter as I only had 3 colours that fit my criteria.

I consider the completed look a nail fail. It didn’t turn out how I envisioned, and I don’t think it was successful at all. But, I didn’t have much inspiration with these colours, so I’m posting anyway, and just moving on.

Zoya in Neve, Essence in Naughty and pink, and Mary Kay in Night Diamond

I started with a base of Zoya in Neve. This is a darker blue with an almost metallic finish. On its own, it’s a rather nice polish. I don’t use Zoya polishes much, and was surprised at how thin the polish was. I didn’t think it was going to be fully opaque in 2 coats, but it was, and it looks great.

I then used a striping brush (long and skinny) to add lines using Essence in Naughty and Pink. This is a very bright pink, but I don’t think it was opaque enough to go over the dark blue well. I had some troubles keeping the lines as thin as I wanted.

I completed the look by adding some random dots of Mary Kay in Night Diamond. This is a dark grey with a lot of shimmery flecks. It’s hard to see over the blue, since they’re both dark though.

Overall, I don’t really care for the look, but I’m showing it off anyway. These are the only N nail polishes in my collection, and not every look can be a success.

Do you have any suggestion of what I could have done with these colours? Or have any N nail polishes I should check out?
