Fall weather always brings out dark vampy lipstick, and now seems like the perfect time to be wearing the Kiss NY Pro Egoism Matte Velvet Lipstick in Kiss that I got back in June at the London Drugs beauty event.
The Kiss NY Pro Egoism Matte Velvet Lipstick line, beyond being a mouthful to say, is a highly-pigmented , non-drying, comfortable to wear matte lipstick. There are 36 shades in the line, ranging from nude to pink to red to dark, and includes nontraditional blue and green shades too.
The Kiss shade is one of the darkest shades in the line, and is a red-purple that screams vampy fall.
The shape of these lipsticks is really neat. They have a tear shape that doesn’t quite come to a point. This lets you get precise, but also add coverage quickly.
The packaging is matte black with a plastic colour insert that matches the lipstick shade. The lid snaps on securely.
Kiss isn’t a shade that I reach for often, I’m more drawn to berry shades, but it is very comfortable to wear. I get chapped lips easily, and can wear this for several hours without my lips getting dry. It does transfer easily though.
I did have issues applying it so I have crisp clean edges, but I’m pretty sure that’s user error. Vampy lipstick isn’t nearly as forgiving with application, which is probably why I don’t wear it often.
