Lipstick is one of those products that can really make a look. There’s a wide range of possible shades, and they each give a different end result. The Mary Kay Gel Semi-Matte Lipstick collection has 8 different shades, and while the performance is all the same, they look drastically different.
The lipsticks come in black plastic packaging. They’re flat on the bottom, and have a slight angle on the top. The tops are transparent plastic, so you can get a peek at the shade inside, if you stand them up. It’s pretty sleek and simple packaging.
Look at the lipstick army! The shades in this collection range from little nude to vampy dark, with a touch at each shade in between.
See what difference a lipstick can make? The rest of my makeup is the same for each shot, just the lipstick is different. And no, the colour isn’t Photoshopped in, I’m just very consistent with my camera angles.
These lipsticks are very comfortable. These are highly pigmented, semi-matte, non-drying gel based lipsticks. Easy to apply, and easy to wear, with a ton of shades to choose from.
Wait a second… I’m missing a swatch. Yup, I somehow missed putting together a swatch collage of Crushed Berry, which is a gorgeous purple shade (it’s top row, second from the left in the face collage). I didn’t notice until after a clean up of my photos, which means I don’t have the original photos, so instead of trying to do it again, I’m just going to leave it out. Oops. It is a gorgeous colour though.
These lipsticks are $21 each, and there isn’t a bad one in the lot. If you can only get a shade or two, it really comes down to which shade will you wear the most. Hard choice since they’re all so pretty!
