As I sat down to write my makeup swatch/review post this week, I realized that I didn’t have much planned at all. So I went looking through some photos, and found a couple red lipstick swatch collages that I hadn’t shared yet.
Red lipstick is a classic look. It’s a power colour that is sure to make an impact. Red lipstick has so many varieties and shades though. Whether it’s red based or orange based, cool or warm, matte or satin, there are almost endless possibilities. Today I have 3 to share.
Annabelle Twistup Metallic in Heartbreaker is a shiny, slightly metallic red that is cool toned. I love the format of this lipstick, with its easy to control skinny stick.
Avon Ultra Comfort Lipstick in Berry Berry Nice is a classic satin formula, with a cool pink based tone. This is soft and comfortable to wear, just like the name implies.
Smashbox Be Legendary lipstick in Canadian Flare is the lone orange based red in this group. It’s also a classic satin finish, but is slightly harder, and so longer wearing, than the Avon lipstick.
I rarely wear red lipstick, I tend to choose pink shades more. Red is a very grown-up feeling colour, and not one I’ve fully embraced yet. With some gorgeous options like these three though, maybe I’ll try red more often.
